That was easy! Maybe a little TOO easy?
Jan. 3rd, 2018 09:39 pmNah. Just remembering the line from TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze. Well I just joined 3 communities. YAY!
Now what?
Well I have some thoughts about the last couple of books I read. MY GOD! I consider them to be Bad Literature. They had good potential but just fell flat. The premise was good but turned out to be something completely different then what I thought was going to happen. Which seems to be the case with these Young Adult Novels that show a strong female characters. They are written by women but they still make them annoying. Like I do not feel for them at all. They are just like no common sense at all. The females are young and naive. Granted they are young, I think teenager age but before 18, and it makes me realize how stupid I might have been at that age.
I mean I do not like the Twilight series at all. I felt like it I was reading a bad diary the entire. Bella did nothing at all and yet somehow has the greatest or strongest power once she becomes a Vampire. But I'm sure it has already been done with what was wrong with it. Abusive, controlling boyfriend and of course no sex before marriage. SIGH.
Anyway, what scary is that the book came out when I was in my last year of high school and I think if I had read it during that time I might have jumped on the bandwagon. Thank goodness I did not but yet there was this one girl at my work back in 2008 that wanted me to read it. And another girl who said she wanted her boyfriend to be just like Edward. And she already did have a boyfriend. SCARY!!!
Last thing about Twilight. I did hate Kristen Stewart as Bella. Just like everyone else but just recently I realized something. The character Bella is a Mary Sue.(Of course I knew that but just hold on.) An actor works with what they are given. Bella has no redeeming qualities. She is just a place holder for other girls/women to project themselves on. Like all that happens happens to the reader. Can't explain it better than that considering I don't impose myself as the love interest to another character. (Maybe as a friend and I put myself in danger but this if from different series.) But Kristen was only given so much to work with and she did a great job on it. I did not really hate Kristen but the character she portrayed, Bella Swan. And I really applaud Kristen for taking a role that had no substance but as an actress she pulled it off.
So I clap for her.
And I just love the chick who played as Becca in Vampires Suck. She is SO SPOT ONT!
