So I am a Reader. I love to read. That's what I do. Or try to do. Sometimes I don't have a book because I have work or I want to watch something. Mainly it's because I can't find a good book to read.

The past like 2 to 4 years I've been reading some really terrible books. I call them Bad Literature.
It's like who gave these people encouragement to write this crap and who helped published it. Just WHY!

Or like Brody said "Doc, why did you do it? WHY DID YOU DO IT?" From High Anxiety.

Some of the books are popular for some reason. A couple of them are Young Adult Novels. I'm just wondering are children this stupid?

The popular ones are by female writers in first person point of view. All about a young girl. Younger than 18. Or really younger than 20.
So it's "I opened the door."
"I felt his breath on my cheek."
"My hand reached out to him." You get the point.
The girl is like almost always unsecured with herself. With no redeeming qualities. And she is suppose to be a kick-ass heroine. NO! She barely does any fighting at all. Or she boasts about her abilities. Or things, both good and bad, just happen to her.

For the most part they are completely Mary Sue characters. They have got to be. Here is why.

The Mortal Instruments Series.
Main Character-Clary. Has fiery red hair.
Author is Cassandra Clare who also has red hair.
Clare. Clary. Clare. Clary.
Of course Clary is short for Clarissa. For some reason she can create new runes when no one has ever been able to before. Like since they were created 1,000 years ago. But wait. We find out she has angel blood. REALLY?!

Katana. Senshi. Shinobi.
Main Character- Rileigh. Has blonde hair.
Author- Cole Gibson. Also has blonde hair.
These books are about a skater chick who all of a sudden knows how to fight, like martial arts, without ever going through the training. A very cheap cop-out. She is the reincarnation of a female samurai. So she was Japanese in a past life. Why did you come back as a white blonde girl? Oh wait. In the last book she is like stuck in a Japanese chicks body but then some how her blonde features show. It was very confusing how she wrote about the body and spirit combing into like a new entity. Or something like that.

I can elaborate more but it's been a while since I read the Gibson novels and The Mortal Instruments are just boring to me. I do have to finish them though. Sigh.
